Lanta Yai Beaches

Klong Dao Beach is the northern-most beach on Koh Lanta, and the first to establish itself on the tourist trail. It is located two kilometers from Ban Saladan pier and comprises of a two-kilometer stretch of sand.

Klong Dao Beach is straightly lined with casuarinas, offering dazzling sand, tepid and translucent water as well as panoramic views of the sunset. This is a great place for isolation and relaxation.

The best time of the year for visiting is between November to April. Klong Dao is very safe beach for swimming with no rocks. The water depth gets only gradually deeper from the shoreline.

The main road from Ban Saladan runs parallel to the beach. Running off the main road are lots of small sois and driveways heading to the hotels and bungalows.

There are plenty of mini marts, food stalls and internet cafes lining the main road but large western restaurants are few and far between with most hotels having their own.
