For specialty divers, there are underwater caves, caverns and sunken ships to visit. Underwater LifeThe dive sites around Koh Lanta are famous for their diversity of underwater life. Species of fish, coral and other wildlife are very abundant as the Andaman Sea is one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. The region is also famous for spottings of the rare and elusive Dugong. Dive ShopsThere are many dive shops and diving centers on Koh Lanta which can arrange dive trips. The majority of dive centers are found in the northern fishing port of Saladan, although there are a few more resort-based dive shops dotted around the island. Dive trips by s[eed boat leave Koh Lanta normally around 8 in the morning and return between 4 and 6 in the evening, depending on sites visited.
